There is strong evidence that many children in foster care experience ongoing disadvantage after they have been brought into care. Many children in foster care experience placement disruption, poorer mental health outcomes, social and emotional issues, and interrupted education.

Share the Dignity

Michelle Povah, Coordinator Northern Sydney Family Referral Service and Emergency Relief Program from our Naremburn Family Centre was asked to speak at a Share the Dignity afternoon tea fundraiser recently. Share the Dignity is a women’s charity that makes a real, on-the-ground difference to homeless women and victims of domestic violence.

It was a very merry celebration at Mary Mac’s this year. Mary Mac’s Place Woy Woy is a not-for-profit community kitchen where volunteers provide a hot lunch, washing and shower facilities and referrals to other services for the homeless and disadvantaged people in our community.
