Family preservation is based on the understanding that it is in the best interest of a child/children to remain in the care of their family, when it is safe to do so.
Keeping families together is widely recognised as crucial for the wellbeing and development of children. The importance of maintaining family unity is supported by various social, psychological, and ethical considerations. While there may be situations where intervention is necessary to protect children from abuse or neglect, where appropriate we work with families to explore alternatives that allow them to stay together. Our focus is always on improving the safety and wellbeing of children. We offer two programs to assist with this goal.
