Meet Niketa from Harris Park

My name is Niketa and my Family Day Care service is located in Harris Park.

I live with my husband and son who is in high school. We moved to Australia from India in 2012. Once settled I decided to start studying my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. I then went on to work casually in centre based childcare services before opening up my Family Day Care service in 2018. My service caters for children aged 2-6 years of age.

I chose to set up my Family Day Care business as I enjoy working with a small group of children. I can take care and get to know each child and family very well. The small group allows me to focus on each child in my care so they feel safe, secure and happy.

I like to plan individual learning experiences to cater for the different ages of children in my care. I plan many activities to learn about and celebrate the many cultures in our community. I believe that learning through play is very important and helpful for any child’s development. It keeps them involved and makes the learning process enjoyable. Parents/families are the most important part in any child’s development. I interact with families to understand a child’s interest and what they like. This helps to gain a child’s trust and make them comfortable in the new environment. I always keep families updated about new development and skills of their child.
