Feeling financially stressed? Breathe. We offer free financial counselling.
October 22, 2018Staying on top of your finances can often be a challenging task. A report by the National Australia Bank in collaboration with the Centre for Social Impact, uncovered that in 2016, approximately 2.4 million Australians were experiencing high levels of financial stress. Additionally, the report revealed that the amount of people who feel financially secure has been decreasing.
At CatholicCare we provide free, independent and confidential financial counselling, to anyone who is having difficulties managing their money. Our Financial Counsellors will listen to your concerns in a non-judgemental manner and assist you with developing a plan to improve your financial situation.
Through one-on-one consultations, our Counsellors will sit down with you to analyse and assess your financial situation. They will provide you with information about credit and debt issues and help you plan for the future. If appropriate, the Financial Counsellors can also act as an advocate for you and negotiate with people you owe money to.
Our financial service is funded by the NSW Office of Fair Trading and the Commonwealth Department of Social Services. It is a completely free service, offered at our Naremburn Family Centre, Northern Beaches Family Centre and the Northern Centre.
