Foster Care & Residential Care Banner

Many children and young people in our community experience hardship and are unable to live with their families.

We are committed to ensuring these children and young people have stable and loving homes in which they can thrive and have hope for the future.

Our foster care program connects a child with carers who can provide a home and meet the child’s everyday needs with empathy and kindness. Depending on the needs of the individual child, foster care can be provided on a short or long-term basis.

Throughout their journey with a child, our foster carers are provided with training, and support from our team of highly skilled case workers, and network of therapy and counselling experts. By working collaboratively, it is possible to build the child’s or young person’s trust, heal their pain, support their restoration to family where appropriate, or support their successful transition to independence as they leave care, with many confident that their foster carer will become their support through life.

We need emergency foster carers

We need emergency foster homes for local children who through no fault of their own, are unable to stay in their family home – a stable foster home where they will be safe while their parents get the support they need, or an alternative family member of placement is found. Can you open your home to a child in need?

What exactly is foster care?
