Meet Kym from Asquith
My name is Kym. You’ll find my Family Day Care centre in Asquith.
I’m married with three children. My passion is working with children and animals.
Prior to becoming a Family Day Care educator, I worked as a nurse in aged care.
Family Day Care gives me the flexibility to be home for my children’s needs once they get home from school.
My house is a little like Kindifarm. I incorporate the animals I have into my program. The children take part in feeding them, checking their water, brushing them and giving them lots of attention.
I do lots of excursions because I believe this gives the children a great connection with their community and many new exciting experiences. We visit playgroup, the local playground, the local fish aquarium, school drop off and pick up.
Our newest excursion is an Intergenerational Playgroup in Wahroonga. I believe this encounter between young and old helps to transform the lives of the elderly who are isolated and lonely. Encouraging kindness, patience and respect and creating new memories for both the young and elderly is so important.
Family Day Care allows me to watch the children in my care grow and develop their skills. What I love most of all is the cuddles they give me and when they say I love you Kymmy!
